Our Story

During the tumultuous partition of India in 1947, Lala Jagannath Luthra and Lala Madanlal Luthra, two brothers who owned a beloved sweet shop in Sargodha, faced a heartbreaking decision. With the borders redrawn and violence escalating, they had to leave behind all their belongings in Pakistan as they embarked on a perilous journey to India.

Amidst the chaos and uncertainty, one thing they carried with them was their precious culinary expertise. It was not just about recipes and techniques; it was about a deep-seated  passion for sweets and a commitment to craftsmanship that had been honed over years of hard work and dedication.

Arriving in Saharanpur, a town that would become their new home, they faced the daunting task of starting afresh. With nothing but their skills and determination, they set up a small, modest sweet shop. They named it “Sargodha Mishthan Bhandar,” after their beloved hometown left behind across the border.

Despite the challenges of resettlement and rebuilding their lives from scratch, the brothers poured their hearts into their new venture. Their sweets, crafted with the same care and attention to detail as they had in Sargodha, soon the sweets shop blossomed into a beacon of taste and tradition not only in saharanpur but in whole North India. Through hard work and unwavering dedication, the brothers turned their small shop into a renowned brand, known for its exceptional sweets that delighted generations of customers. Their commitment to quality and authenticity resonated with the local community, propelling Sargodha Mishthan Bhandar to great heights of success.

As time passed, their sons and grandsons embraced and expanded upon this legacy, upholding the family’s values of excellence and customer satisfaction. The sweet shop became more than just a business; it became a cherished part of Saharanpur’s cultural fabric, a testament to the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of its founders.

Today, Sargodha Mishthan Bhandar stands not only as a thriving business but also as a symbol of perseverance and the enduring bonds of family. The journey of Lala Jagannath Luthra ji and Lala Madanlal Luthra ji from Sargodha to Saharanpur is a testament to the human spirit’s ability to triumph over adversity and build anew, leaving a sweet legacy for generations to come.
